Asalaamu alaykom, good day, helooooo people.
So this weekend was fun, had the banana over and we only get her every second weekend so the gremlin doesn’t see a lot of her big sister. As a result they don’t bond and the gremlin doesn’t know her or understand that the banana is family.
But on saturday we pick up banana and as soon as the (very moody and in a bad mood at the time) gremlin spots her she flashes one massive smile (much to my surprise! this kid doesn’t smile at anyone easily, especially if she’s in a bad mood) and nearly jumps from my arms to kiss her sister lol. she got so excited!!!! I think its coz she was sick of me and her dad and was desperate for company lol. Any how all the way home, the gremlin doesn’t take her eyes off her sister and the huge silly smile is glued to her face, then the gremlin in her takes over and she hits her sister *sigh* the banana laughs it off, but I get very upset, I don’t want her fighting with her sister, we don’t want the banana to feel like she doesn’t belong or like we favour the little rat over her. by the way since we told the banana she was gonna be a big sister (and she made it clear that it better be a girl) she has been one very happy and excited little girl. telling everyone who would listen that she’s going to have a sister 🙂 sooo cute!
Anyway where were we? oh yes, the gremlin fighting. this little 7 month old has a nasty temper and she is extremely stubborn! its crazy! She clearly understands no, she just choses to ignore me! *sigh*. We want the banana to feel like she is still our baby so we make a fuss over her when she’s there so that she doesn’t feel threatened by the new addition, and surprisingly this has never happened. she loves it when Imaan gets attention, because its her baby sister!!! TOO CUTE! anyhow after I tell the gremlin to stop fighting with her sister she looks at me and smiles at her sister and goes on playing. this went on all day saturday and sunday.
Then on sunday something amazing happened. Imaan passed out from exhaustion!!!! I layed her down, changed her nappy and she was out. ‘This is amazing why?’ you may ask? because this child refuses to sleep during the day!!! since one month old she flat-out refuses!! you have to FIGHT with her to get her to take a nap. And now I have a secret weapon, RANA! Good Lord, who would have known a toddler could be so useful?? I discovered it and will continue to use it every other weekend, now i just need something for every other day when the banana isn’t there.
they played together from 7am to 2pm and the gremlin conked out. I was so proud of Rana. It made rana destroying the house worth it! (I changed my mind about that as soon as we got back from dropping her off and we had to clean the mess).
The gremlin behaved like a dream while her sister was there, even allowed her daddy to play along and she was nice to him. then when her sister was gone, it was back to normal, me juggling her on one arm and the dishes, washing and whatever else on the other, with her shouting at me to kiss her *sigh* she drives me nuts but she is just oh so cute!!!
This weekend, I took a back seat and watched how the princess interacted with the girls and I fell in love all over again. He is such a push over LOL they get their way all the time. He just cannot say no. he loves those girls soooo much. I wouldn’t trade my naughty little angels and their push over daddy for the world!

This is how they sleep? Imagine how I feel when i get up in the morning, my aching bones!!!
